Sweet. Not sure if the end result is as amazing as people say, but hey, I couldn't paint something like this with just my hand.

Luke...I am your Father.
It's wrecked. Makes you wonder if that was really him driving in those Undercover Brother spinning car scenes. Hmmmm.

So, London suffers from a serious lack of snow and hilly terrain. These guys came up with a novel solution. Sweet!
Hey, it could have happened this way. Excellent satire from a British TV show called The Day Today.
Man, I have seen some acting in my time. This guy should get an Oscar.

...unfortunately, he's no closer than he was when he made Ice Ice Baby. In fact, doing a rap for the tax man probably has him disbarred from the rappers assoc.

Clearly we are not dealing with a very bright guy here. Most of it ends up coming straight back up. NOTE: Don't view this one at lunch.

This is really inventive and cool. I want one a t-shirt with this on. Anyway, you can check out the rest of these wicked covers here
Clown phobics beware. This is the creepiest clown I've ever seen. And what's with the outfit? This is really screwed up. I can't believe kids ever liked this guy.
Actually, it's the same folks who brought you The Young Ones, but they call themselves Bad News. Very Spinal Tap actually. Rik Mayall, Ade Edmonson, top stuff. NOTE: Turn the volume down, it's loud. And it's probably best to stop playing it after the song finishes. There's another 6 mins of an interview that's probably NSFW.
Don't worry, no nudity here. But I'm fairly sure this move would not do much in the club to get the guy handing over his dollar bills.
If you're gonna act like a moron, watch your head. Tylenol anyone?

Nice spoof of the renowned 1984 spot for Apple. What would happen if Hilary won? Not declaring any left or right wing feeling here, just like the spoof.

OK, if you don't like to see people get bumped and bruised, then best not look at this one. But I think it's their pride that hurts most.
I know, I know, everyone's seen this. But I love it so much I had to put it up on the the TGISFW site because, well, Shatner is a god.
From the title, you may think I was smoking something. After you've seen this, you may wonder if Nimoy was smoking a lot of something.
You'll end up saying Night Of Fire, Night Of Fire, Night Of Fire.
Fellas, I can already see you all rolling around in sympathy pain. All I can say is Owwww.
Ok, ok, so I was a Knight Rider fan. Sue me. This is the infamous scene in which Garth Knight (the BAD Michael Knight....long story) wipes out the talking car using a truck made of the same stuff KITT is made from. Yup, I'm still in shock 20 years later.
It doesn't really matter if you know who he is, or what LOST is, just admire some serious skills from a top Photoshop artist. Sweet.
You've all seen the afro dude fall flat on his face. Well, here's the complete audition with all of his skillful pals. These guys know less about Kung Fu than Martha Stewart.
Another video from Wisebread, which has a very nice article about DIY mistakes. And it looks like most of these morons are making them.
Trust me, go HERE. This is really addictive. Choose from Metal, HipHop or Disco, add lighting effects, sweet moves, screams, the whole works. And all done with a kickin' cow. It's actually done by the Swedish Milk Board. Nice way to promote milk.
So, this is done in the UK with pounds, but it works exactly the same over here. It's not exactly moral (and don't try this on charity shops please) but if some nasty store owner short-changes you once, this may be a good way to get your own back.
There's no need for N.W.A. to be unsafe for work or kids. A little help from the volume control and a spot of improvisation, and like magic it's a remix.
Now, I'm lazy, but am I this lazy. Seriously, who doesn't have time to rip off a few sheets of paper a few times? But, it's well cool as inventions go. And a great use of LEGO.
Nope, you're not seeing things. This is art from a British sculptor named Benedict Radcliffe. And I think it ROCKS! More pictures here at Winding Road.
Cool site called Wisebread has a great article on Monster Sized Snacks. These things must contain more calories that 10 Chipotle Burritos!
This is too funny. The same guy gets hut by a drunk driver. Every 30 seconds!
Someone obviously needs to read a book or two on kitties. And self defense.
First up, who is Drew Struzan?
You know him. Yes, you do. He's responsible for some of the most stunning movie posters and artwork ever created. Any fans of Indiana Jones, Back To The Future or Star Wars will recognize his illustrations. They're unmistakable. But sadly, it's also a dying art. These days, it's much simpler to comp together a few head shots in Photoshop and call it a day.
So, in honor of the great man's great works, I present my favorite Drew posters of all time. Is this list definitive? Of course not. And if I've left anything out that you think should be included, write me. Maybe I'll include it. Maybe I won't.
I must also thank Paul De Blieck for his co-operation in supplying the images for this piece. His excellent web site documenting all of Drew's fabulous career can be found here. I strongly suggest you take a look, and bring a rag to mop up the drool. Ok poster fans, here we go.
10: Mallrats (1995)
The movie was pretty much a dud compared to the excellent "Clerks" but the poster was a great way to showcase the more comic-book style and content of the movie. And of course, with Kevin Smith's affection for all things movies, I'm sure he didn't object to the mighty Drew lending his pencil.
9: Star Wars Special Edition (1996)
Look at it. A beautiful thing. Compared to the illustration done on the original back in 1977, this is quite a retelling. And when put next to the other two special editions, it becomes one of three that together form a complete story. Only someone as masterful as Drew could pull that off.
8: An American Tail (1986)
Sure, it's not as powerful and dynamic as other posters in Drew's career, but it's got real charm. And as the whole story is based around one very charming mouse, that's what makes this whole poster come alive. I also love the duotone background, becoming full color in the foreground. Excellent.
7: Hook (1991)
Didn't care for the movie at all. Sorry Hook fans, but don't mess with a legend. However, the mastery of Drew shines through on this one. Part pantomime poster (if you're English you'll know what I mean) and part fairy-tale in its design, it really captures the essence of what Peter Pan is really all about - a child-like innocence and an adventure waiting to happen. Flawless. Shame about the flick.
6: The Shawshank Redemption - 10th Anniversary re-release (2004)
From one extreme to the other, here we have a movie that is beyond compare. Shunned by movie-goers in its day, it went on to become one of the most loved and most watched movies of all time. This 10th Anniversary poster finally does the movie justice, with a focus on the incredible drama and character filling this wonderful movie. A must-have poster for any Drew fan.
5: Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989)
This one adorned my wall for many years and with good reason. First, it captures the mood of this movie 100%. The detail is astonishing. And the composition and framing is classic. A fitting way to end the trilogy (although if rumors are to be believed, Indy is back soon for round four).
4: Back To The Future (1985)
Admit it. Even the sight of this one invokes that warm, nostalgic feeling in you. This was the first movie I ever purchased, having saved for 10 weeks with a pittance of pocket money. And if I could have had the poster too, I'd have been one ecstatic 11 year old (there, that dates me). Everything about this one says adventure. The DeLorean is not as complete as in the sequels, which I like. It has some gravity and mystery. All in all, a definite top 5. Disagree? Come over and prepare for fisticuffs at dawn.
3: Return Of The Jedi (1983)
Stunning. I was going to leave it at that, but hey, I'm a wordy guy. I love the drama and simplicity of this one. After all, when it comes down to it, Jedi was really about the struggle between good and evil not only between a father and his son, but between a man's good and bad side. Jedi is Darth Vader (but it's not my favorite SW movie...that honor falls to Empire). However, as far as Star Wars posters go, this is the cream of the crop. A signed copy please Mr. Struzan?
2: E.T. The Extra Terrestrial (1982 - unreleased)
Somehow, Mr. Spielberg missed the boat on this one. It was never released as an official poster for the movie. Why? Ask the great director's guilty conscience. But as far as I'm concerned, it has all the qualities of a master movie poster. Drama, intrigue, charm, understatement, and of course, a hero. I hope one day it gets the glory it deserves.
1: Raiders Of The Lost Ark (1981)
Here it is. My favorite Drew poster of all time. I could be lynched for this one, although I doubt it. Being a huge Indy fan may have swayed me, but come on. This was the poster that launched a new hero to the masses. As grand as the score by John Williams, as dazzling as the effects, and as majestic as the story of the Ark, this poster conveys every bit of excitement and adventure as the movie itself. Put on the soundtrack and you could even watch it for a few minutes with a bag of popcorn. It's pure movie magic wrapped up in one amazing poster.
So, there you have it. Next time, I stick with movies as a theme (and trust me, I'll stick with movies often). It's a Star Wars saga...the top 10 LIGHTSABERS of all time. Stay tuned.
